Knowing what you know now, would you do it all again? A Review of Transference

Picture
R to L Lisa K Wyatt, Esther Mira

Transference is a engrossing romantic thriller that asks you to consider if you were forced to meet the love of your life again and again would you continue to commit knowing what's at stake.

Transference
Written & Directed  by Jim Blanchette
June 8th-29th
Venue The Broadwater (Black Box) 6322 Santa Monica Blvd.
Run Time 55 mins
Tickets can be purchased at http://hff19.org/6026

A hypnotherapy session by Dr. Herbert (Esther Mira ) unlocks the memories of past lives lived by Ms. Clark (Lisa K Wyatt). Unforeseen to both,  she recalls that she's loved Dr. Herbert in a thousand past lives. She attempts to convince her of the truth of her memories. These claims feel ludicrous to Dr. Herbert and thus begins the struggle of perceived reality, fate, and Transference.

Mira and Wyatt possess tremendous chemistry. Like magnets, from one scene to the next, they attract and repel by a force seemingly bigger than themselves. Wyatt's grip on her character's world-shifting realization gives this relationship the gravitas necessary to pull the audience along to what feels like an inevitable climax while Mira's impressive portrayal of Dr. Herbert grounds the relationship.

Truly an excellent exhibition of two gifted actors Jims' razor-sharp writing keeps the audience intensely captivated throughout the fifty-five minutes of performance.

I am hesitant to say much more in regards to the intriguing plot, as like all good things I believe they should be experienced first hand.

Don't miss this chance to go down the rabbit-hole with Transference. It's one of the most engaging science fiction pieces presented at this year's Fringe Festival.
