Mike Bizzle was born Michael Octavius Barrett on March 1, 1991. Growing up in the early 90's, he had many influences such as Notorious B.I.G, Jay-Z, and Nas. Starting at a young age Bizzle was always interested in writing. " I heard B.I.G hypnotize on the radio when I was nine years old." Once he heard the song he ran, grabbed a pen and pad a re-wrote the lyrics and added his name into the lyrics. " I couldn't understand what it was but I wanted to know more."
Bizzle continuously kept writing throughout elementary school and finally had a chance to show his talent to his peers in fourth grade. His words in his first performance were, " Everybody gotta take the test from east to west".
Who would have known this experience which seems trivial to some would be an inspiration for his future career. "After that experience, I really felt like I was a rapper." Childhood memories, dreams and experiences has influenced and guided Mike Bizzle's personality and music.
Who influences you the most?
"The top three people who influence me the most are Eminem, Jay-Z, and 50 cent. Jay-z's ambition and his drive, his lyrics paint pictures in your mind. Eminem on the other hand his creative word play, he speaks from a different point of view speaking from the life of a man on the west coast. Plus 50 Cent got the best hooks."
Mike's influences have accomplished a lot and gained tremendous amounts of success in the music industry.
As a young aspiring artist his goals are to expand his support base, earn respect from others, appeal to people of all ages and to have longevity. Respect from others especially people in the community such as teachers and parents.
" I remember I was walking home, someone I knew was driving and the kid in the passengers seat said I could spit. They asked me to spit and once I was done they simply replied, "Don't quit your day job punk." After that I felt like man..I just gotta prove everyone wrong and work harder."
Since that experience what have you accomplished?
" I made five mixtapes. Stack Crack, The Come Up, Three for the Money, Hip Rock 101, and my newest edition The Mikerophone Diaries. The newest album TMD I feel like its reaching out to other age groups now. The feedback I've been getting back from it is real positive, I feel more respected. For this album I didn't have a street team, I had a campaign. The support from my friends and people I know spreading the word about it was great."
In the future he plans to attend Five Towns College and study music technology. After graduation he plans to own a record company, have a thriving career, sign artists and be able to connect the people with his music. " I want to be the best if not the top five. I want to use the power of celebrity, being in the eye, being in control and using that control to make a positive change through my music. I just want to thank Stack Set, supporters, anyone who produced on TMD(The Mikerophone Diaries), Steve Stush, and God blessed me for this talent."
